RECONNECT is designed primarily for young Somalis from the diaspora, ideally ages 24–38, who want to experience Somaliland but may not know where to begin.
Maybe you have always wanted to visit, but the language barrier made you hesitant. Maybe you do not have strong family connections back home, you are unsure who to visit, or you simply do not want to navigate the experience alone.
You do not need to be an entrepreneur, investor or executive. You may simply want to reconnect with your roots, experience the country for yourself, meet people, understand what is happening on the ground, or explore possible business, professional or investment opportunities.
Somali fluency is not required.
Most importantly, we hope RECONNECT gives you the confidence and curiosity to return, explore independently and find your own way to stay connected to Somaliland.
RECONNECT was created by Somali professionals from the diaspora with deep connections to Somaliland and a shared desire to help others discover the country in a meaningful way.

No. Participants can come from many backgrounds. You may have a regular job, be studying, building your career, running a business or simply looking to reconnect.
No. Somali fluency is not required.
RECONNECT combines travel across different parts of Somaliland with curated meetings, institutional visits, conversations with leaders and entrepreneurs, exposure to different sectors, and two weeks alongside Somali peers from across the diaspora.
No. Participants arrange their own international flights. Local transportation during the program is included.
